I remember years ago (ok, my eldest is now 20...this would have been the year after he was born I think...1987) when I lived in Tulsa/Broken Arrow area and we were pummeled with an ice storm. I was thrilled...being from the North my entire life, it was a 'real' winter to me, but it totally paralyzed Tulsa. Everything started closing the morning of the day it was to hit, and by mid-afternoon, not a thing was open...no gas stations, no mini marts, nothing. Roads were bare.
It took 2 days to get some serious snowplows and a supply of salt/sand mix in from Chicago. I think Tulsa had 2 snowplows at that point.
Thank you for sharing the photos -- we are now living in Mississippi and well, I can't even imagine seeing anything resembling snow around here without a panic ensuing!
I had a wonderful visit. Thank you again!
