Hey, Zach. Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday. Seriously, you had jello with veggies? I'm in Meridian hangin' out with your dad. We're watching Monday Night Football -- Go Ravens! Over the weekend the girls and I made your famous Oklahoma Campfire Stew, which SC has renamed Zach's Campfire Stew! Love the baby picture on the blog. How'd you do in the band thing on Saturday? Your dad wants to know. Be good!

Yes I did. =]
It was ok.
It had carrots and celery which I can't eat. Don't know why, just can't.
haha
I'm glad y'all are enjoying that.

I didn't make it, but its ok. Most sophmores don't make it. So no worries.

I've been meaning to call him, been really busy though.

Have a great Tuesday!

Just another of Grandma Welch's recipes. Zach's campfire stew is actually Savory Beans. Grandma was a girlscout for 50+ years and we had a lot of meals around the campfire - and had to stretch the budget. My sister reminded me that its not crushed sausage patties, but sausage links that are supposed to be used. I had forgotten. Also, a thicker baked bean mix is best - something other than pork and beans.
As for the Jello, take lime jello, crushed pineapple (use some of the juice in place of water, sliced carrots and celery and mix it all together. A fun way to get some veggies. I think its pretty good. Too bad Zach doesn't like celery.
Grandma was the best cook and Grandpa was the best 52 card pickup player. She lost him in 82 and she died in 97.
Zach did an outstanding job making it to 2nd round. If he keeps up his practice, I have no doubt he'll place next year.
Love you son.......

Sonja (Solowest) knows about Savory beans don't you missy? Has Aunt Susie ever made you the green jello? If not, remind her of it and see what she says. You looked VERY pretty in the Thanksgiving pictures at Mary's. You guys all looked like you had a great time. Everybody looks good!!

Good job at BOA - you don't have to make finals everytime. You guys are playing in the big leagues, so its TOUGH!!

omg! the jello!!! it's SOOO GOOD! i had it at aunt sharon's house..the jello was placed on top of a lettuce leaf, and our jello was red (no biggie).

as for the savory beans, it's one of kirsten's all time favorite meals. we usually have it for her bday or something..i'm not a huge fan of savory beans but i still like it..considering we only eat it once or twice a year..
